Stride Rite Sneakers Sizing--What size is your child?
I was just at Marshall's the other day and they had cute Stride Rite sneakers for $10! They were small sizes so I got a pair for my son, size 5 1/2. I have no idea if I am maybe squeezing his feet in, they seem to fit and when I put his foot up to the shoe they seemed a bit bigger. He's 17 months...what size are your kids wearing /what age? THANKS!
PS--If anyone wants info or for me to grab them a pair of the stride rite's at Marshall's, FM me! I think they only had 5 and 5 1/2. AND they are on Stride Rite's site for $48!!
ETA--In the first paragraph, I meant the SHOE seemed a bit bigger than his foot, not vice versa!

Re: Stride Rite Sneakers Sizing--What size is your child?
My DS is 16 months and I just bought him a 7XW. I suppose he's closer to a 6 1/2 but still. Big dogs! I dont think you can go by other kids though, my nephew is almost a year and wears a 3. The only concern I have about SR shoes from Marshalls is if they are irregular in some way. I can understand if its a style from a past season being so much less but a current style being only $10? KWIM? I know I can tell what is or isnt fitting my foot properly but I don't trust my DS (even my 3 year old) to tell me if something doesn't feel right. I might just be a skeptic though

CRAP! Didn't even think of that, just thought they were past season. But you're right, why would they be if they're still on the site? The tag didn't say irregular, I know sometimes it says it if they are. I hope they're not.

Re: Stride Rite Sneakers Sizing--What size is your child?
Just thought of something else, this store just expanded and is a superstore with the huge shoe section and they have a LOT on clearance. Maybe it is their old stock and they're trying to get rid of it? Okay, laughing b/c I'm having a conversation with myself on my thread!!

Re: Stride Rite Sneakers Sizing--What size is your child?
I got Lauren size 5's for the fall/winter. When Andrew was the same age, he wore the same, or maybe even a 6.
Andrew is almost 3.5 and he's in a 10 (he has small feet!).
ETA: you can always go into a SR store and get his foot measured and then not buy there, so at least you know what size he is wearing.

Re: Stride Rite Sneakers Sizing--What size is your child?
I just bought Roman shoes at Stride Rite. He is 20 months and they measured him at a size 7.5. I also went to Marshall's and bought him some Carter's shoes in a size 7 which were big. Stride Rite shoes run big, when the woman told me 7.5 I was like but the sneakers I bought actually fit.

I think you're just a skeptic honestly. If the shoes are irregular, they should be labeled as such on the tag, b/c that is considered "fair" to the consumer - they have to tell you what you are buying.
I've gotten several pairs of SR shoes at Marshall's...they are usually past season - which is totally funny when it comes to kids - but, I love scoring a deal on great shoes!!!

I didnt know they had to tell you it is irregular. That's good then. Just when the OP said they are also currently at the SR store for $45, that's where my skeptism comes in. I hate to think they'd actually sell shoes that could hurt a poor kid's feet.
Matteo's Mom - you should def go get him sized. You dont have to buy there. I did this recently. I was actually going to buy DS the shoes bc I felt sneaky (even though all they're doing is measuring feet so it's not really a tragic thing) They didnt have the ones I wanted in his size though and after removing myself from the salesperson's clutches (she was insistent about ordering them and have them send right to my house) I ended up getting a pair on shoebuy.com for about $20 less than the store.
