strollers - city girls
i live in brooklyn and do a LOT of walking. dh and i do have a car, but right now it's sitting at my parent's house since there is no parking around here and we may sell it in the future. we're planning on getting a car seat (not travel system) for it that we can share with my parents if need be.
given this information, what is the best stroller for city life? we only want 1 and i'd like it to be fairly lightweight (so i can push with one hand if necessary) with long enough handles so dh is comfortable pushing it. i'd also like it to last as long as possible (meaning sturdy but also with accommodate the baby growing for a while).
any ideas? tia!

We live in Hoboken-- so, it's a city and a subway ride away from Manhattan... We have a car, but when I am bopping about town with the baby just to get out, I will just stay in town, and not use the car.
We are getting the Bug Cameleon. It also has adjustable handles to accommodate different heights for you and DH, or whoever else might be pushing the baby.
The stroller frame also will accommodate our car seat to use as a "snap and go".

Re: strollers - city girls
Alot of city girls like the MacClaren and that's what I'm getting as well...
I originally wanted to get the Bugaboo because it glides very well on the city streets but my after hearing from my neighbor how heavy and cumbersome it is, I decided against it.
The neighbor lives in the basement and and I'm on a 4th floor walkup so if she say it's cumbersome, I trust her!

Re: strollers - city girls
I live in Brooklyn as well, and I am still unsure which stroller to get...meanwhile I am due in less thana month!
I am going to start with the snap and go and then move on from there. I am thinking about a Bugaboo, a city mini jogger or a bumbleride.
Which neighborhood do you live in?

Re: strollers - city girls
Hi girls! Queens here - I registered for the Graco Metrolite and love it; I'm 5'8" and its comfortable for me:
Whatever stroller you get just assemble it and "practice" opening and closing it (with one hand!!!) a few times before baby arrives-you don't want to be 'flying blind" the first few times you need to do that, its hard to juggle the baby, the diaper bag,and the stroller!!

Re: strollers - city girls
we live in Bay Ridge and swear by our Bugaboo!! It really takes the streets better than other strollers.
We also have a Maclaren in our car for when we are out
