From Cnn.com --- I just thought this would be interesting to some people after the whole chemical in baby soap thing that we had the other day.

Re: Study: Popular baby bottles may be dangerous
I know that Dr Browns does BFree bottles for that reason (I haven't read the article...but I know the basics of it) From what I know from my friend Liz, its more dangerous for little girls as the instability of plastics has hormonal effects. I do know a few girls who use glass bottles, but they seem really dangerous to me (I know, thats all they used early on) but it would be too dangerous with my little monster!!!

I read a lot about this before Asher was born and was totally freaked. But, my understanding was that the bottles leached only when filled with liquid that was boiling hot, since we don't put boiling hot liquid in Asher's bottles I thought it would be OK.

So did I. I would never put anything hot into a plastic bottle. I always let my boiled water cool to room temperature and then fill them. Our parents had the right idea with glass bottles.

I use glass bottles. It's a personal preference, but I believe that plastic bottles can't be safe. I don't know what I'm going to do when he starts holding and throwing them.

so other than glass what are "safe" options?
I hate all these studies. They scare the heck out of you and don't provide safe alternatives. I don't feel glass is safe after they are newborns either.
I microwave sterlize I'm sure that's even worse. Maybe I should stop doing that
