Stuff to do in Northern NJ/Manhattan with a 1 yr old?
I was thinking DH would take the day off on Sasha's bday and we'd go out and do something fun with her. I know she's too young to really get anything-- but is there anything interesting we can do/go to?
Thanks for the suggestions!

At 1, I think she's still kind of young to do alot of stuff, but if it's a nice day, you can go to Central Park and do the zoo and the carousel. Maybe the children's museum? There's one in the city and in paramus. Or again, if it's nice the Brooklyn Aquarium.

I've been thinking of taking Chels to the bk aquarium, but of course it's getting colder now that I want to take her I hear the childrens museum in the the city is great..how about FAO Schwartz? Chels is at the age where she totally realizes toys...if we're in Target and we go down the toy aisles she starts to scream in joy and then in anger when I don't let her play with something she sees

We're taking Tuesday off for Samantha's birthday. I'm not sure what the plans are though. We'll play it by ear.
There is the Turtle Back Zoo, but it's so cold out these days. It's a nice zoo and small.

My sister took my nephew to FAO for his 1st birthday. It was just family. We shared a big thing of ice-cream and then we played with the toys. He wasn't walking yet, but they let him crawl on the famous piano thing that looked like the one from Big.

There's the Children's Museum of Manhattan, it's on 83rd btwn Bwy and Amsterdam. It's probably better for a little older than sash but they have puppet shows she can watch and story time...it's pretty cheap admission. I plan to take Shane now that he started walking.
Oh, and I checked out Chelsea Piers a couple of weeks ago for Shane's 1st bday party....they have a baby/toddler gym in there, ball pit, slide, etc. And she can play with that stuff even though she's not walking cause shane went to a party that had that kind of stuff before he was mobile and I laid him in the ball pit and he loved it. They have free play there, I think it was $12 for an hour. I actually would love to do a NYC GTG there, I think it would be fun for the babies.

sounds like a perfect place for a GTG! Then they have the restaurant right there for lunch.
I'll check out the museum. She LOVES puppet shows-- we have one in town that we go to all the time.
I know she's too young for most thigns-- but, she will definitely enjoy some f these things nonetheless I think.
