Stupid cleaning products!
I did the most stupid thing ever this AM. Sat on the tub, sprayed kaboom w/oxi clean in the tub and started wiping it out--the fumes totally went up my nose.
Someone please re-assure me or beat me over the head for my pregnancy brain!

Ah, I'm sure you are fine. As long as you are not using those chemicals all the time. I had to use bleach in my bathroom the other day b/c DH kept promising to clean it and I saw mold in the corner of my tub and FREAKED. I sprayed it and ran out of the room. Then I cam back a few hours later and did a quick rinse with the shower. The fumes were crazy, BUT the mold was gone and I was a lot less creeped out.

Ugh, sux but sometimes bathrooms need bleach, right! I salined my nose and sat outside for a while....just such a dumb move on my part, the entire pregnancy I have been using Green works and DH has been on tub/shower duty--I just forgot for a second.

Re: Stupid cleaning products!
I bought Seventh Generation cleaners b/c the regular ones were driving me crazy. They smell much better and work really well!!

Re: Stupid cleaning products!
I'm sure it's fine. I've been trying to use an eco-friendly cleaner in my tub, but it just doesn't do the trick. So Sat I broke down and used my old faithful scrubbing bubbles. I opened the window and left the room while it foamed up on the tub, and then tried to clean it off quickly, but I'm sure I inhaled some.

Yeah they def do...the Green Works is great for day-to-day cleaning. But bathrooms get so grimey and unfortunately my DH always says he will take care of it and he lets another week go by. I can't take it!!!

I use the multi-surface spray from them on my counter tops and it does work well! I need to try their bathroom products.

Re: Stupid cleaning products!
This is why I just don't clean!
Seriously though- it's fine- you would have to be breathing that in for hours and on a regular basis to cause any harm...

Re: Stupid cleaning products!
I think if it's just that one time it's FINE!!! but next time if you're going to do it ... open a window and make sure it's very ventilated!!!!!! Or even better.. Have you DH do it!
I was freaking out over going to the hair salon to get my hair done for a wedding and breathing in TONS of hairspray .. It happens..... I think we're both fine as long as it doesn't happen all the time. I think it's good to be a worrier though- it shows we're concerned moms-to-be! (at least that's how justify worrying about every little thing! )

I totally agree with this......
Even stuff like using hand sanitizer.... I seriously can't live without that stuff now, yet I was totally fine not even owning that stuff before last year when Swine flu became an issue!! I think Purell's company really took off last Spring! I seriously don't leave my house now without that stuff......... swine flu concern or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Stupid cleaning products!
For decades pregnant women used standard cleaning products and way worse all the time. Green, all natural cleaning products are a relatively new invention. It is great that we have them and I use them all the time. However occasionally to get something really clean like the toilet or tub, you need something a bit stronger. Just use it in a well ventilated area.
