Stupid Pack and Play Drama
So...I started my registry a few weeks ago and now that we know the sex of the baby, I pretty much finished it off.
My MIL told DH that she was mailing him something that she had two of from when DH's neice was born (she's 14 months old). I asked my SIL what this was about, and she said "Oh, I told my mom to send you the extra pack and play." I ask her if it has the bassinet part and she says "No".
So, I talk to my SIL everyday, she knows that we actually HAVE a pack and play that they bought when they were visiting that doesn't have a bassienet part AND she knows that I registered for one with the idea that I would use it in our bedroom when we first bring the baby home. THEN SIL goes on my registry (she helped me with bottles and stuff) and takes the pack and play off.
Now, I would gladly use it if it had bassinet part to it. But what do I do? Put the original one back on our registry? What do I say to MIL?

I would flat out tell her the truth. That the entire reason for a pack and play was the bassinet usage, and thats why you registered for that one. And you appreciate this one, but it will be used as "an extra".
What can she say?

I would put the original one back on and just explain to your MIL why you want that one so she doesn't have her feelings hurt. I think it was presumptuous of your SIL to take it off of your registry without asking you. Get whatever works for you.

I would put it back on your registry, why is she going on and deleting it with out your permission anyway?

I would put the original pack and play back on the registry. Can you bring this "extra" pack and play without the bassinet to your parents house? I had one at my MIL's and DS would nap in there when we were visiting. It really came in handy since all the bedrooms are upstairs and I didn't want to lay him on a bed upstairs by himself when everyone else was downstairs.

That's not right to delete it off of your registry. I'd reregister for the one you had considering you really need the bassinet part.
I'd keep it anyway. Maybe you can leave it at a grandparent's or other relatives house if they live nearby?
Looks like we'll have three. One for here, and one each for the grandparents' houses.

I would put back the original one you need. Why accept something that is not what you want?
She had no right to modify your registry.

Re: Stupid Pack and Play Drama
We are going to have 3 as well. I guess I will reregister for the one that I had and I will take this one to SMIL's and the other one to my parents beach house or something.
I kind of feel bad for MIL because she always is saying she doesn't have much money and she obviously had to spend $ to send the darn thing.
SIL is just like that. She is very inappropriate and I know she *thinks* she is helping, she totally isn't.

I would put it back on your registry and if necessary - change your password. I would suggest that you still accept the pack and play as a gift but tell your MIL that she should keep it at her house for the baby. This way she has something available and you have one less thing to pack.

She lives in FLA, which is why I feel bad she spend the money to mail it. SIL was badgering her to send it because MIL had two (in fact they were going to send us the one no one likes until they found out it was boy and pink and brown wouldn't work).
The funny thing is, that SIL already knew we had an extra pack and play because they bought it when they came to visit us and they didn't want to fly it back down to Bmore.
So, I guess we will have three!
Anyone need a pack and play

Re: Stupid Pack and Play Drama
I know she has had it for quite some time, but I am wondering if she could exchange it for the one you want. What store did she buy it from?

Re: Stupid Pack and Play Drama
I can't believe she actually deleted it off your registry.
I would put it back on and have your DH explain to your MIL that that's what you want.
