stupid question- what would you do?
Okay so jacen has a rash on his butt. It may be a fungal infection (kind of looks like blisters- one small and one larger, with some small red dots around as well).
I called the ped. They can see him at 3:30 today. I'd have to leave work early to take him. The office is about 40 minutes away.
Now he has a scheduled well visit on tuesday. I have to leave work early that day too.
I asked if we could do them all at once today and she said no (they dont do well visits today). But we could do it on tuesday (since technically he's not sick sick).
Do i wait until tuesday or go both days? I would just hate for his rash to get worse. But i hate having to take time twice, bring him 40 minutes away TWICE, and have him scream his head off twice in just a matter of days.

Can they call in a topical cream for you to hold him over until Tuesday?

Re: stupid question- what would you do?
don't waste your time or co-payment...pick up lotrimin fungal cream at target and apply it with every diaper change with diaper cream over it...it will be gone in 2 days. BUt continue to use it for the entire week.
If you used desitin for two or more days with no relief or reduction in redness it's most likely a fungal infection...especially if it's very red and spread into the creases of the thighs...

I'd wait - agree w/ PP - get the other cream. If it gets worse, then you take off. I don't understand why they can't do the well visit today also - its not like it take 2 hours - what - an extra 5 mins?

The closest target is 50 minutes away. But CVS should have it right?
So i put that cream on and then the aveeno diaper cream on top of it (that's what we use)?

I wouldn't go both days.
I'd use the lotramin (which you will definitely find at CVS). When you take him Tuesday for his well visit have them check it out to be on the safe side.

Re: stupid question- what would you do?
First off Good Luck
AJ had a fungal infection that was persistant. When through three types of prescribed creams before we found one that not only took the redness away abut KEPT it away. such a pain!
As a side note, they may not do both for insurance reasons. Well visits and sick visits are billed differently. Just a thought. Some places can't bill two procedures in the same visit.
