Subway Outages in NYC

I believe it's just the Eastside lines. I can't get on to the MTA website.
This is the article from Newsday.com:
A power outage in the city's Upper East Side neighborhood cut traffic lights and some train service Wednesday afternoon, officials and residents said. The extent of the outage wasn't immediately clear.
"There's something happening on the Upper East Side. I can't tell you how big it is yet," said Bob Magee, a spokesman for Consolidated Edison.
Residents said traffic lights were out for 20 blocks on Lexington Avenue between the 60s and the 80s, while others said that the East Side subway lines weren't operating.
Con Edison couldn't say how many customers had lost power. The city was in the second day of temperatures well over 90 degrees.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art was evacuated around 4 p.m. and visitors sitting on the outside steps in the sweltering heat. The streetlights up and down Fifth Avenue were dark.

That's probably correct. My office just emailed us that there have been lots of power outages on the upper east side today due to the heat and electrical storms in the area.
ETA - oops, I see you got the full article now!
Hopefully they fit it soon. I'm not looking forward to the commute already - but at least I don't need to take the subway.

THERE IS A BLACK OUT THAT IS AFFECTING PARTS OF MANHATTAN AND THE BRONX. WE WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE YOU WITH INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
TRANSIT SERVICE UPDATE- 2,4,5 AND 6 LINES ARE NOT RUNNING BETWEEN 60TH ST AND 176 ST.

Power Outage Hits NYC
On the hottest day of the year, power outages have been reported on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and in the Bronx. Also, the MTA is reporting sporadic power outages on the 4, 5, 6, E and V subway lines in Manhattan, and the D line in the Bronx.

All I have to say is P A T H E T I C!!!!!!! This has been happening for the past few years...friggin Con Ed charges an arm and a leg for its services...its about time they got a grip on this! Seriously!
