Suffolk County Jury Duty
Can anyone enlighten me about how the jury duty thing works here? I am from the Bronx and we did it differently there. DH got his notice which says he is on telephone alert and we have to call some number after 4pm today for instructions. Does phone alert mean he stays by the phone until he is called? I am too impatient to wait until 4pm today to get his instructions , LOL>

No, he doesn't have to wait by the phone.
He has to call every afternoon after 4, and they will tell him a range of numbers that have to show up the next day. His number is on his paperwork.
He must do this every day until they either call him to go in, or they tell him they don't need him.

Sometimes they post the website sooner than calling. That's how I found out. I don't have enough patience to listen to a recording.
