Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
So I just found out that I am PG. DH and I are going on a cruise in October and at that point I will be around 16 weeks. I honestly don't think I will be showing by then and I am already a bigger girl so I really don't know how I will be carrying.
I have a lot of stuff that I wear now and was planning on taking with me but what if it doesn't fit very well and in September I am in a mad dash to find summer stuff and will have no luck.
Should I buy some stuff now in a bigger size? Should I just take the risk and see if my stuff fits?
What would you do?

Re: Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
Aww I remember you from the TTC board -- congratulations!!!
I am in the same boat and will be going away when I"m about 16 weeks. I went to target and bought some maternity shorts from liz lange - nice fit, very comfy and reasonably priced (you may want to wait another week or so for them to start running sales on the summer stuff). I have found that my pants and shorts started getting too snug but I am still able to wear my tees and tanks so, if I were you, I would just pick up some maternity shorts (and maybe a maternity bathingsuit) - just in case - at the end of the season when they are on sale so you'll be super comfy on your cruise

Re: Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
I just came back from a cruise and made a ton of use out of the maternity tank tops from the Gap!! They're cut just a little different from the regular ones.. One my cruise at 12-13wks, I wasn't really showing but I did find them more comfortable!! Plus it will be useful to have something like that to lounge around in around the house during the winter. Even when it's 15 degrees out, the heat in the house always makes me hot!!

Id pick up a few maternity tanks/t shirts /shorts. You will be more comfy. JCP has some summer maternity stuff on sale. I was just there over the weekend.
Congrats on your BFP! I think I saw you once in Dr B's office.

I think it might have been your initial consult b/c later that day I was on the TTC board and I saw your post about going to Dr B and the time that you went I was there too. Then I looked at your pic and it was def you and DH that I saw in there I was in the waiting room with my DH as well.
ETA: I think it was in May.

Re: Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
Everyone's different, but I'm 17 weeks and still in my regular clothes (I ended up losing weight in the first tri due to bad m/s). However, at this point, I only want to be in my dresses and tops that are a little more roomy. If you have a lot of sun dresses with empire waists, you'll probably be okay. If you don't, I'd pick up some cheap ones at Old Navy. And as previous poster said, it couldn't hurt to pick up a few maternity tanks and shorts. I'm sure things have to be on sale now.

Re: Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
Thanks Ladies!
Is it ok to wear my "spanx" like undergarments? I live in them in the summer when I have my dresses on.
Also, does anyone know of any places that have plus-size maternity? Either in-store or online?

Re: Summer Clothes for Cruise in October
I'm 16 w now and I'm basically living in sun dresses. Super comfortable! I have two maternity ones, but all my regular sun dresses still fit from before.
I got two pairs of shorts one size bigger than my usual size that have elastic waists from Wal-mart -- they also have a drawstring. They were very inexpensive and have been great for the summer.
I definitely recommend sun dresses for your warm-weather needs. I'm sure once the summer is over, I'll be all in maternity clothes, but for now it's a great option.
I also went swimming last week in my regular bathing suit. I definitely look a bit fatter than usual, but who cares -- we're pregnant! We're allowed!
You're going to have such a fun trip!!!!
