Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower
Any thoughts on this product? The BRU site gives it so/so reviews.
Our kitchen sink is catty corner in one part of the kitchen right up against the stove - so I felt wierd about bathing the baby there. Not to mention too that when I wash dishes by hand in that sink (which is rare b/c we have the dishwasher) water tends to go everywhere - I think our faucet comes down too low and our sprayer is tough to get out of the opening (it's very old). One final note - our bathroom needs some serious renovating and even though we have a tub in one bathroom - the faucet stopped working and water only comes out of the shower. To fix we'd have to break into the wall - which is fine when we are ready to redo the bathroom, but with DH out of work we want to wait until he finds a new job before sinking $15k into a bathroom (based on estimates we got, it needs major work). I also registered for the the Fisher Price Aquarium Bath Center - I may keep both on the registery, I can use the Fisher Price one when the baby's bigger or if we redo the bathroom or even better - if we move. I've read that the spa one I'm asking about though has electrical wires - not sure how I feel about that for the baby either... not with water!

Re: Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower
Honestly - I would go with a simple one. I went to baby safety class at my hospital last week and they said find one that is sturdy and get a good thermometer. They said too many parents are getting pulled in by the new ones and they really are not safe. She mentioned the spa bath that you posted about. Hope this helps.

Re: Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower
I have the summer one(clawfoot) and didn't like it at all. The only plus was that the baby can use it for awhile because it's big but other than that the shower sprayer is as powerful as spit and it's a pita to store. I wound up using a cup instead of setting the shower up.

Re: Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower
DH insisted we get this bath b/c he loved the shower and the whirlpool. What a waste of money!!! The whirlpool effect scared my son so we never used it. The shower part was really cool when it worked. It worked for maybe 5 baths and then it became more of a pain than anything else and it was so much easier to use a cup.
