Surrogacy

Not sure if this is the right place to post but I am posting for a friend. Does anyone have any information on surrogates? Any insight is so appreciated her and her husband are going through a very rough time right now.

I know someone going thru it. She just signed contracts & surrogates IVF will be in Jan. In NY its Illegal so she will have to go to another state

Yup, we did surrogacy for about a year. Since surrogacy is illegal in NY, we worked with an agency located out of state.

The first agency we worked with provided us with terrible matches. Each time we would receive a profile to look at, I'd get so excited only to find out the woman had histories of failed surrogate cycles or losses. My doctor looked over their medical records and for various reasons could just not accept them. It honestly was devastating.

After several months had passed and Giliana Rancic announced she was doing surrogacy, I did some investigation and found out which agency she used. The very next day I called them up and by the end of that day, I haf a match.

To make a VERY long story short, although my surrogate looked great on paper, we ended up having two canceled cycles together. Cancelled, because we weren't even able to transfer. Out of desperation, I switched doctors and did another IVF cycle and I'm currently nursing my 4 month old as I type this.

As you can see, I have a ton of experience with surrogacy so feel free to fm with any questions. My surrogate and I have remained close friends. She came to visit a few weeks after I had my son and we will be seeing her again soon. Surrogates are heroes. Unfortunately, NY is in the dark ages.
