Surveyor needed in Nassau County
Please recommend your surveyor, if you were happy with them. DH and I were supposed to close in about 2 weeks, and now just found out that we need a survey. Our mortgage rate is only locked in until 3 weeks from today, so I'm nervous about getting this done ASAP! Thanks so much!

You should speak to your attorney. Usually you can order one through the title company and because they have relationships with surveyors they can have it done quicker then if you hire them on your own. For my clients I usually get quotes through the title company and let them know how much it is going to be and it can usually be done in a short amount of time.

Thank you. After getting this advice from a friend, we called our attorney back, and he is going to go through the title company. I'm just nervous, b/c weeks ago we were told that aside from needing homeowner's insurance, we were "all set to close" whenever we wanted, and now we find out that we need a survey. I don't know why our attorney didn't know this earlier.

You should be fine. It may be that there was an old one and the bank wasn't telling him/her that they needed a new one. It is a little stressful but it will all work out. Good luck!!!
