SUV's w/ Third Row
I did a search and see some recommendations for 3rd row but wondering which ones are easy to use b/c I know it can be a pain to get to the 3rd row if you have a car seat already in place in the 2nd row.
Can you recommend an SUV where the 3rd row is easy to get to?? Or good for a toddler?

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
Chevy Trailblazer and Honda Pilot have been the 2 easiest from what I have seen so far. They are also "real" seats and not jumpers.

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
I have a 2008 Ford Explorer w/the 3rd row and it is easy to get in the back row. The driver side back seat folds down and then flips up behind the driver seat and you just walk right in. It is one handle that does it all. I have a carseat in the miidle and up until recently had a booster on the passenger side. They are not in the way of the other seat folding down. This is my second explorer and I love it! BTW: I have sat in the third row with my mom and it was not an issue. DH on the otherhand would be miserable back there.(He is 6ft 2in)

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
We looked at the GMC Acadia. It's very nice, the 3rd row seems like a decent size, but our problem was that when the 3rd row is being used, there was very little trunk space (in our opinion -- we tend to have lots of stuff in our trunk) I just could not see using the 3rd row and fitting luggage and a stroller (possibly someday a double stroller) and anything else we may need.

I have the Jeep Commander and LOVE IT. The 3rd row is super easy to use. Both the 2nd and 3rd row fold completely flat.

We also looked at the arcadia and did not get it for the same reason what we did get was a Chrysler Aspen and we love it... but not to much trunk space either.. i dont think any of the suvs really have trunk space when you are using the 3rd row unless you get the xl version of the yukon or the cadillac escalade... then there is a lot of room

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
Definitley look at the 3rd row seat and make sure it is a full seat and not "jumpseats". A mommy friend of mine just turned in her commander because the 3rd row wasn't suitable for a full car seat. She ended up getting a Chrysler Town and Country...
Most SUVs with 3rd rows will work best when the middle seats are captains chairs and not bench seating. So be sure to look for that.
P.S. I'll get back to you once I hear from Dan.

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
I have an Acadia with 2 captains seats in the back so the 3rd row(which is full size and holds large adults) is completely easy to access. This truck functions great for 2 kids!

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
I love my Pilot, but like veryone else mentioned, when using the third row, you really cut down on your trunk space- though that third row is pretty roomy for 3 adults (we usually have the gilrs in the way back when needed.)

ITA. Jumpseats are not safe for infant or convertable seats, and they are still testing if they are OK for boosters.

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
we have a Nissan Armada and I love it. It had plenty of room in the 2nd and 3rd rows and it's easy to get back there. It's a gas guzzler though.

Re: SUV's w/ Third Row
Our Volvo X90 has the 3rd row option and we did see a family with this 3rd row so I guess you can check that out too and see.

Thank you! Sorry dumb question but unless its a captains chair than it is considered a jump seat?

See now, I have the Armada too and I don't like it. I have captain chairs in the 2nd row and 2 carseats so in order to get to the 3rd row if we use it you have to climb over the console and it isn't easy for everyone to do. I will agree that it is a gas guzzler though
