Re: swimming classes?
i started DS at about 4 months. it really did help him.
he slipped in the tub once and when his head went under he immediately turned over so his face was out of the water.
they teach them things like that... we did safe-t-swim

Re: swimming classes?
I was thinking of starting them this winter/spring. I figure then he will be ready for next summer.

Re: swimming classes?
We take our three month old. We plan to do six weeks on and then six weeks off all winter. My Mom has an inground pool that we will be at almost every day next summer. I don't want the whole summer to be getting over water fear or tantrums. Plus, I want him to have a healthy respect for the water!
But, really, DH takes him. He works very long hours and gets very little, sometimes no time with him during the week. So this is their little bonding time.
