Swing question
is it ok to keep DS in it for a few hours a day? I mean I feel so guilty that he is there, I keep thinking that maybe he is too small and I might be doing harm to him... I know I freak out too much but would love to hear opinions...

Re: Swing question
I used to keep DD in her papasan swing for a long time for the first few weeks...she slept great in it and really enjoyed the motion...

Re: Swing question
A few hours should be fine especially if he enjoys it and gets some sleep.

it just seems like sometimes it is the only way to keep him asleep (in his crib he starts swinging his arms and wakes himself up if I dont have him in miracle blanket)

Re: Swing question
I was in the same situation...but I have to be honest and admit that the reason I couldn't get him to sleep during the day was because I couldn't hear him cry. I would pick him up right away. The swing was easy because the motion put him to sleep and kept him that way for a while.
For a few hours I think it's fine. You get a break and he can sleep...especially if he is having a hard time.
ETA: I can't say that I would recommend it to anyone - it's a personal choice - but we started putting DS on his tummy to sleep when he fought the swaddling. He sleeps so much better that way and for longer periods but we do check on him more often to be safe. He's more alert when on his back and wakes up more often so we only do back sleep at night when he is swaddled for as long as he will tolerate it.

David doesnt like tummy time so thats out but I do admit that I cant stand him cry as well... he will sleep in my arms just fine and wake up just as soon as I put him in his crib...
