Switching Doctors....
So i'm having some issues with y current OB and feeling like i'm not being monitored closely enough. When I was pg in October w/SKittle we had weekly u/s due to me being high risk.....We were never told anything looked off and we went on blissfully thinking everything was great until the m/c. They chcked my progesterone and thyroid and wited a week to tell me it was off and based on the babys growth SKittle more then likely passed that week before I started on the suppositories....Now we're 7w6d and while I have been on progesterone and a thyroid increase i'm terrifoed. I had 1 us and they said everything look much better then last time... What does that mean? Nobody said it idn't look good. I called on Friday to talk to the nurse about my concerns and she blew me off. I said should I have another progesterone draw and thyroid leve done and she said nope I was great and a normal pregnancy... I said no, due to my uterous(?) I was high risk and always have been. She said to relax and they will see me on the 29th...I am FREAKING out and after speaking to a few friends they suggested another OB. I'm calling on Monday but what do I say and how do I switch them? I guess I should clarify.....I belong to Valley OB and I want to switch to Womens Health...Am I freaking for no reason and just being hypersenstive or do you think it's a good idea?????

Re: Switching Doctors....
If you are in any way questioning or uncomfortable with the way the current OB is handling your situation then I would switch. You should feel confident in your dr's ability and not feel like you have to constantly follow up for them. Have you expressed your concerns directly to your OB? Good Luck!

Re: Switching Doctors....
If you don't feel comfortable with your dr you need to switch. You have to have trust and faith in them or it will be a very long road. Go with your gut and switch.

Re: Switching Doctors....
Switching is easy. Make an appointment with the new doctor and ask them if they can order records from your current OB. You'll need to sign a release form showing that you approve the sharing of your medical files. A few days before your appointment, call the new OB to verify that the records are in. And Walla.....you switched. It also doesn't have to be permanent either. If you second guess yourself after you meet with the new OB....just call your old one and make an appointment. They're too busy to remember your specific details anyway, so they probably won't realize any gap in time. Good Luck.
