Switching from crib to toddler bed
DD is 15 1/2 months old and I am debating on whether to change her crib into the toddler bed. She is in our bed every night and I can't take it anymore. I'm thinking maybe she feels closed in because of the railing on the crib? Hopefully you can help with some of my questions though. Is it even ok to do this at her age? Do I get one of those side guards to prevent her from rolling off? What stops her from waking in the middle of the night, standing up on the bed and falling off? Do I sleep in there with her the first couple of nights? TIA for any responses.

Re: Switching from crib to toddler bed
I just switched my daughter at 20 months- I'm expecting in 3 weeks and didn't want her to be overwhelmed with a new baby and switching beds all at the same time. I must say she loves her big girl bed and doesn't give me any problems about going in it. I did buy a toddler bed from babies r us- (she's still so little, that when I put her again a regular twin bed, she would really get hurt if she fell). The only problem I'm having is the toddler bed has a built in 1/2 rail, which prevents me from putting an additional bed rail. So far she's been in the bed for about a week and has fallen out every night. I have a body pillow on the open part of the bed, so she doesn't realize she falls out, but it's cute and heartbreaking at the same time, when I find her curled up on the floor. I'm not sure what I should do actually. Any suggestions?
