Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
When you put your DC in the big tub for the first time, were they in a seat or something? Or did they just sit in there on their own?
If you used a seat, which one was it?
How old were they?
Could they sit up on their own?

Re: Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
DD was in the infant tub for quite a while...I can't remember when we stopped using it, but we definitely pushed it to the limits I liked not having to lean over the big tub!
When we stopped using it, we switched to using this inside the tub...it was great! We used that for a long time too. She was sitting up on her own when we switched to the inflatable tub.
It wasn't exactly this one, but very similar. Got it at BRU (but can't find on their website )

Re: Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
I want to say DD was 7 months and was sitting up on her own for a few months by then. We only have a jacuzzi tub for two...too big for her and too deep for me to reach down into, so she is in an inflatable tub and I sit in the big tub with her in that. She loves it!

Re: Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
we tried the seat and returned it. it was awkward to wash DS in it and he kept trying to get out of it.
at 10.5 months, we're still using the plain blue baby tub. it uses less water and he can't fall like in the regular tub. when the time comes though, he will go right into the regular tub with no transition.

Re: Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
DD was about 20 months when I stopped using the "sink" tub. She fit fine and I have a deep jacuzzi tub, so I wanted to hold out as long as I could. Even if I had a regular tub, the one for the sink was perfect. Now, I just have a rubber mat that has suction cups on the bottom for her to sit on.
This is the tub I used. Image Attachment(s):

I had a bath mat and I also put a towel down as well just for something extra to sit on. I didn't have him in anything. I made sure he could sit on his own and hold his balance. I can't remember how old he was... maybe 8-9 months? My son is off the charts with height and weight so he grew out of his infant tub pretty quick. I got him out where he reached the point of his knees bending just to sit in it. I knew it was time to go.
I would wait for them to sit up on their own if you can or buy those really cute inserts for the tub but I'm sure your baby will grow out of that soon.

Re: Swtiching DC out of infant tub questions and help
I used to put the baby tub in the bath tub when DS got bigger.
I think he was about 5, maybe 6 mo. in this picture.
I hate those tub seats so I never got one. I think they are a waste.
Around 8 months I got rid of the baby tub and used to put DS in the tub by himself but he sat up really well. I made sure I sat with him. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and got fish things that I stuck to the bottom of the tub when he took a bath so he didnt slip.
