Table Food Ideas for 9 month old?
DS seems to be refusing baby food more and more often so we're starting to offer him table food. He can't feed himself well at all though so I sit and feed it to him.
Any ideas? I tried egg yolks yesterday and he wasn't crazy about them. Waffles this morning which is he did OK with.
I know I need to keep retrying things for him to get used to the texture and tastes.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Re: Table Food Ideas for 9 month old?
My kids do great with pancakes-I use bisquick with water(since Declan has a milk allergy) and I make them silver dollar. Last time i put in a jar of squash baby food. This time I will do bananna. I freeze them in batches of 4 and defrost for about 20 seconds in the microwave, or overnight in the fridge
Organic Baby Carrots-steam them until really soft. I cut mine since I am paranoid. Sweet Potato Bananna-I cut a "grid" of about 2 inches long on the bananna and then just slice onto their highchair trays Peaches-bought a can in light syrup and rinsed off the syrup-then cut into small pieces Small elbow macaroni pastina
Haven't tried these yet but:
Organic cold cuts Bagels-torn into small pieces Toast waffles peas

Alexis wasn't crazy about scrambled eggs in the beginning, but I continuously tried every other day and even put in a slice of cheese. Now she loves scrambled eggs w/o cheese.

I have been giving Chloe pastina w/ a jar of organic baby food as a "sauce." I freeze extra in cubes.
She loves mashed sweet potatoes.
I cut up some pain cooked ziti the other night and she loved it.
I am going to try some boiled chicken today.

Re: Table Food Ideas for 9 month old?
After a few trys, DS LOVED scrambled eggs! It's his favorite!
At 9 months, he was trying or already eating on a regular basis:
pancakes
turkey meatloaf (I made it like I always do....grated in fresh veggies..so that was a bonus for him!!)
turkey burgers (will only eat them seasoned the way WE eat them!)
pieces of torn up inside of a bagel or whole wheat or pumpernickel bread
DS was & still isn't into fresh fruits & veggies (prefers the purees still)......BUT: peas cut up pieces of fresh or canned (in juice, not syrup) peaches or pears
raisins

when you say waffles do they teeth the waffles or do you cut it up...
DD hated pastina the first time we tried, did you mix it with anything? Sorry this is a great thread since I'm in the same boat!
We're also giving DD slices of cheddar cheese that she can't get enough of!

Re: Table Food Ideas for 9 month old?
DS is older but he has been eating his waffles frozen the last few times. He takes small bites - not sure if it feels good on teething gums or he is too impatient to wait for them to cook.
My mom also gave DS frozen peas - to keep him quiet - now he asks for more.
I found toast was more mess then it was worth.
When you are ready to start meats - try canadian bacon - my sister gave it to DS over the weekend (she was making it for her DH) and he loved it. Plus its thin so you only have to cut it 2x, not 3x. Its a nice lean protien.
