Take me home outfit for late spring babies
I'm due the first week in June and was just thinking about the take me home outfit for that time of year. The weather may be fairly warm and I'm not sure how I should dress my baby on the day we take her home.
Is short sleeves okay? If not should I just look for pants and a light 3/4 shirt obviously cotton to keep her cool.
Any suggestions?
I know it's really early for me to even think about this but it's just a thought.

i think that babies can't regulate their body temp as well as we can, so the rule *generally* is to dress your baby in one more layer than you. for early june, if it's in the 70s, i would think that long sleeves and a light jacket is good for baby. you can always take the jacket off!!

see I was told the opposite that you dress the baby as you would dress youself, so if you would only wear a t-shirt and light jacket then thats what baby should wear... plus remember even in June you will probably be using blankets so you don't want the baby to be too hot... HTH

 there needs to be ONE baby book for all us concerned mommies!! too many "cooks" stirring the pot, ya know?

DS was born May 8. The outfit we took him home in was a onesie (for an "undershirt"), a short sleeve onesie outfit w/ a long sleeve "sweater" OH, and a hat! It was all a matching outfit.

the rule of thumb is to layer one or two more than you. Your pediatrician will tell you this.

I am due int he early summer and waiting to find out what it is, but my ideal take me home outfit will be a little Yankees outfit...i can't wait! Just need to know if I need the traditional blue & white or if i need a pink one!

DS was born at the end of June and he wore a long sleeve 1 piece outfit with socks with a short sleeve onesie underneath
Just make sure not to get an outfit with an elastic at the waist with umbelical cord.
