Taken out of work early?
I just wanted to know if any of you girls were taken out of work early because of back problems? If you were, how far from due date, and did disability cover it?
ETA: My dr. is considering this but I don't want to be taken out if disability won't cover it (they decide it's not a good enough reason).

That's a great question, I would love to know since I've been having bad sciatic pain. Anyone?

Re: Taken out of work early?
I was taken out of work at 34 weeks due to high blood pressure. I had to fill out disability paper work through my employer and this was all verified by the insurance through my doctor. The 6 weeks I was out prior to my daughter's birth were paid but they did count toward my FMLA 12 weeks. So when my daughter was born I got 6 weeks of disability for birth. I got 6 weeks at full pay prior to her birth and then 6 weeks at half pay after her birth because that is how my ins. coverage is set up. I have unlimited half pay long term disability. Not everyone has this so make sure you check specifically what your disability coverage is through your employer. So now here I am with my daughter being 6 weeks old and since my FMLA time is up I have had to file for personal leave which is unpaid and if I needed to keep my benefits I would have to pay for them myself. I hope this helps you a little. You definitely need to research this at your company because every company is different.
