Taking a trip without DS...
Dh and I are thinking about taking a trip to PR for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. DS will be 8 months. I am having a really hard time booking the trip because im so nervous. I know he will be very well taken care of by my parents...and its really only 3 days..but i think im really going to miss him and might be miserable the whole time. The idea of lying poolside and relaxing for 4 days sounds wonderful, but im just not sure im ready to leave him. Will he even know I am gone?
Anyone travel around this time....id love some input.

Re: Taking a trip without DS...
I went to jamaica when ds was 9 months. It was great..I did miss him a lot but knew he was in good hands. And no, he'll never forget who his mommy is. And wait until you see him when you get back, I bet he will sqeal with joy...so cute!
I say go, relax, let his grandparents have some time to spoil him...and have a wonderful vaca with DH.

Re: Taking a trip without DS...
We went away from a Saturday to a Tuesday when DD was 4 months. FH was in a wedding and we just couldnt bring her at that time.
It was really good for us, we needed that time alone. She was with my parents and didnt even know we were gone.. or atleast that's what I told myself

Re: Taking a trip without DS...
When Ava was 8 months old, we went away for a few days just up to Boston. We left her with my parents adn while we were gone, she got a stomach bug and was vomitting everywhere. The saints that my parents are told us that under no circumstances should we come home and to enjoy ourselves. So, we did. We deserved it. We missed her, but we got over it once we were there. My parents told me they used to leave my sister and I with my grandparents, drive as far as they could before they fell asleep and check into a hotel and sleep for two days straight We're normal now as adults and our parents very much love us, so I say go!

Re: Taking a trip without DS...
Definitely go for it! Saying goodbye is hard, and you will probably get upset, but you need relaxation and a good vacation with alone time with DH.
We have gone away a few times, twice to Europe, and had a great time. We are actually going away for 3 days this week to Montauk.
DC's get to spend time with their grandparents and be spoiled rotten, and DH and I get our adult time. It's a win win for everyone!

Go!! Have a great time. I've went away when the kids were little. Had a ball. Actually didn't miss them until like the 3rd day. It was good for me, my husband and being a mom. Have Fun!
