Taking baby for a walk
My DD is 3 weeks old. If the weather gets warmer, I would love to take her for a short walk. When did you start taking your baby for walks if you had yours in Feb.

Taking baby for a walk
My DD is just about 7 weeks old, and I had her out for a walk at 4 weeks when we had a warmer day. I also had her out today. I'll take her out as long as the sun is out, it's not windy, and it's around 40 degrees or higher.

Taking baby for a walk
Our dr told us to take DS out when it was over 40 degrees. He was born on 2/1 and we took him out today for the first time. We were out between 20-30 minutes walking around the block. It was nice to be out!

Taking baby for a walk
I'm a fan of the 40 and over walks as well... Today we went for a very nice walk. The winter sucks. I had my dd in may and I was sooo spoiled with going for walks everyday that this winter is killing me!

Re: Taking baby for a walk
I can't wait to take DD out. Sandy hit shortly after she was born and it got cold quickly. I'm so tired of being couped up indoors!

Re: Taking baby for a walk
I had my twins at the end of Dec and anytime it hit 40 degrees, we were out walking. Just bundle the baby up, and you're good to go.

Taking baby for a walk
I had my first in January and I had him out by about 4 or 5 weeks old for walks on the boardwalk. My second was born Dec. 3rd and he was probably around the same age or slightly older when we started walking with him.

I had a baby 1/29 and we went for a walk today! I had my older DD in the stroller and I wore my younger DD in the moby under a fleece.

Re: Taking baby for a walk
I had my baby on 12/29 and we go for walks all the time - we started her first week but only went about 3 blocks, now we go for longer.
I pretty much go out as long as it is above freezing and the wind isn't too strong. I find 34 and not windy to not be as bad as 40 if there is strong wind, KWIM. So I use my best judgement and layer up. I also have the plastic on the bassinet that blocks the wind and I put her in a hat, a fleece suit thing and blankets if needed.
It's very refreshing and we both enjoy it a lot!

Re: Taking baby for a walk
I had my baby in late December, and I started taking her for walks within the first two weeks. Granted, I live in the city, so walking is my primary mode of transportation. But, I made sure to bundle her up, and also use the wind cover on my bassinet. It was really nice to get fresh air!

My ped said to bundle her up and take her out from day 1, as long as it wasn't raining. I only didn't take hr out those blustery cold, windy days.

Re: Taking baby for a walk
Dd was born 11/5... she was about 3 weeks old for her 1st walk. Ill generally take her out if its over 40 and sunny. She loves it and its nice to get out and a good way to break up the day. We walked for an hour yesterday!

Taking baby for a walk
My DD was born in oct but I was taking her for walks almost up until Christmas and even a few days in January. As long as the temp was over 45, I just got her bundled up well. I bet by march it will start warming up enough to take your LO out for short walks.

Re: Taking baby for a walk
DS was born on Jan 31, and when he was just over 2 weeks old there was a warm day that I took him for a walk. Since then, we've been out a few times because I was depressed being home alone all day and stuck inside!
We went for a walk yesterday and I'm hoping to take one early today before the weather turns. I just put a hat on, put him in the bundle me and put a blanket over the carrier to protect him from the wind. He's usually asleep before we get out of the building.
