Re: taking dd to disney...
We literally got back today. We had a great time! I'm not sure how old your little one is, mine are 9, 6 and 4. My little one loved the Disney Philharmagic 4D movie. It's in the Magic Kingdom and it is about 20 mins. He laughed hysterically and sat for the whole time. Have a great time!

Re: taking dd to disney...
i heard about them from word of mouth but i am sure people on here can tell you and online you can look. there is a breakfast at the polynesian with stitch, there is one at the crystal palace with winnie the pooh and so many more. the girls might have to be 3, but at that boutique they get the dressed and their hair done like a princess! i can't wait to do that with dd!

Re: taking dd to disney...ADDED QUESTION
i don't know any websites off hand, but googling disney character breakfasts should bring up alot of results. get one of the disney vacation books that should tell you. you can also call the 800 disney number to make all the reservations now.

Re: taking dd to disney...ADDED QUESTION
Check on allearsnet.com for menus and info about character meals.
Lst summer when dd was 2 1/2 t 1900 park fare in the Grand Floridian, with CInderella and her family was the big hit of the trip. there is great character interaction for the whole family!

Re: taking dd to disney...ADDED QUESTION
How old is your DC b.c that will change the advice I give...BTW you can feel free to FM me I am happy to help answer any questions.
I took DD#1 on her 1st trip in Sept/Oct 08 - the weather was gorgeous BUT very HOT. So be prepared for hot and humid during the days.
1) A great book - The unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World 2010 - I HIGHLY recommend it - it has a TON of info from dining both IN and OUT of the parks, to who to call if you get sick down there, grocery shops, info on ALL rides, restaurants etc.
2) You can make ADR (advance dining reservations) 180 days before you leave (it is 180 +10 if you stay onsite so you can make them 180 days from your check in date and then you can reserve up to 10 days into your trip - otherwise you can only book 180 days from each day of your trip so you will either have to call each day or wait until 180 from the end of your trip and call then.
I would book any popular meals (esp character ones) as soon as you can.
The top ones are: (breakfast=B; Lunch =L, Dinner=D) Cinderella's castle (Cinderella is there breakfast and lunch fairy godmother for dinner) Chef Mickeys (B & D)- mickey and friends Crystal Palace - (BLD)- winnie the pooh and friends Princess Storybook Breakfast BLD - Akershus Norway in EPCOT 1900 Park Fare - B=alice and mary poppins, D= cinderella, prince charming and the stepmother and sisters Ohana - Lilo and Stitch and Mickey for B Garden Grill - Mickey and friends - D Hollywood and Vine - Little Einsteins and Jo Jo Circus BL
Those are the top ones - there is a breakfast with Donald at the AK and some other ones but those are the top ones
Depending on when in Sept you are planning on going (it does start rather early in the months) you might consider looking into getting tickets to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the MK (MNNSHP) - it is a fun party - they close the park at 7 and open it to those only with tickets - kids come in costume - they have various trick or treating spots, Dance parties with the characters, when we went there were NO lines for the rides, a GREAT parade and special fireworks presentation. DD#1 was 15 months and she was dancing with Donald and Chip and Dale and Daisy. It was lots of fun. But it is a separate ticket event. If your DC is under 3 they are free for this event as well as for regular park entry. DD went as tinker bell and got a lot of attention from the characters.
Depending on how old your DC is you should consider using the baby care centers - they are clean, not that crowded - they have multiple change stations as well as FAMILY restrooms if you need them and no long use diapers. They have a small play room, eating room (where you can heat food - microwave) with high chairs, nursing area and the best thing to remember is that they carry sundries - if you forget baby or child suntan lotion or run out they have that there - The sundries area - sells - baby food and carnation formula, Gerber juices, medicines like tylenol, benedryl, bandaids, suntan lotion, diapers and wipes, changes of clothes etc.
You DEFINITELY can bring food into the parks (there is further info on WDW's website) the only caveat is that you CANNOT bring in anything that is glass. But you could bring in some food - I'm not sure about a full lunch but from what I read on their site it doesn't seem to limit what you can bring - I DO know that they don't allow in things like hard sided coolers. But I think you could bring in something that is non perishable. We eat at the counter service locations when we go - but last trip I brought bananas, zip locks of cheerios and puffs, breakfast type snack bars and bottled water (btw if you bring in water you can get a cup with ice from a counter service location for free so you don't have to drink it warm).

You will probably still need the baby centers - b.c they are cleaner I think than some of the bathroom changing tables.
She should like the character meals.
DD will be almost 3 when we go (1 month after we return she will turn three) - we are going to: Chef Mickey's Crystal Palace Princess storybook breakfast 1900 park fare
There are tons of rides and shows that she will probably love -
HS - there is beauty and the beast, playhouse disney show, muppets 3D movie
AK - Finding Nemo and the lion king shows
as far as rides - anything w/out a height restriction and depending on her height she mogh make some of those rides.
A warning though - they are doing a major fantasyland expansion starting this year to open in 2012 and 2013. Toontown will be closing permanently and possibly dumbo while they move it and expand the dumbo ride. Barnstormer will be saved but I think they are changing it to another theme - but I haven't been following any of the planning only checking to see if the rehab/closures will affect our trip. They haven't announced when things will close OR how extensive (they will try to do most of the work behind the scenes before they close anything.) Keep checking on the rehab/closure section of places like allearsnet.com to see if they have any dates announced. Last I read they are just saying later in 2010 they will start.
