Re: taking off wall border?
I'm assuming that is sort of like wall paper, no? If so, i would assume it's sort of a PITA. I would peel off as much as I can, and then buy that stuff that you can spray on to loosen the glue (it's called DIF or something like that) and scrape it off carefully...maybe with a plastic spackle knife?
If they messed it up, shouldn't they be doing this???

Re: taking off wall border?
Yea I agree with the other poster...I don't think it's so easy...it is like wallpaper unless it's vinyl then it may be more like a sticker...
The painter/handy person that applied crooked needs to make things right...

Re: taking off wall border?
I think new boarders generally are now made to be removable.... so not as bad as wallpaper?

Re: taking off wall border?
Take off the border.
Remove what is left with a mixture of hot water and really cheap (usually pink) store brand liquid fabric softner.
Soak a large sponge (a car wash sponge is good), hold it on the spot. The fabric softener and hot water combo take most of the glue off the wall.
If you painted with egg-shell or scrubbable flat it won't damage the paint.
