Taking stroller and car seat on air plane?
Do you bring them right to the gate?
How do you label them? Luggage tag? Etc.?
Thanks!

Re: Taking stroller and car seat on air plane?
I just brought our stroller on the plane and checked it at the gate. We bought the red stroller check bag, and I am so glad we did, because that bag has little holes in it and is dirty. I can't imagine what my stroller would look like now if we didn't.
As for the car seat, if you are not using it in the seat on the plane, you can check it when you check your luggage. They will give you a tag to put on it.

We brought our car seat on the plane and we checked our stroller at the gate...they gave us a tag to put on it and we rolled it right up to the plane and then folded it right before we got on and left it there. The baggage workers come and pick it up.

Re: Taking stroller and car seat on air plane?
We got a cheap stroller bag from BBB and used that - we brought our car seat on the plane but if I wasn't I would get a cover for it too. We flew delta and the bag was pretty beat up. Other people were complaining that their strollers were filthy.
It is very easy you just go to your gate. When someone gets to the desk at the gate just go up to them and tell them you have a stroller and car seat that you want to gate check and they will give you a gate check tag. Fill them out and attach them to your seat and stroller. Then right before you get onto the plane you leave them at the end of the gangway near the door (you will see an area for them). When you get off they are waiting right there for you to pick up.

We always check our carseats in at the counter. We usually fly Southwest and they put the seats in large plastic bags.
When we get to the gate, well get a tag for the stroller and then leave it on the jetway.

We bring the car seat on the plane.
I always roll the stroller right to the door of the plane and then fold it up and leave it for the baggage handlers. At the gate they put a tag on it and give you a claim slip. I've never had a problem with it getting damaged or dirty.

when we brought our stroller i wheeled it right up to the entrance of the plane and the stewardesses took care of it. i think they put a tag on it like the luggage. and it was right outside the door of the plane when we got off.

We have a carseat travel bag on wheels that we check w/ our luggage and we checked our stroller at the gate and they put in right in the front of the plane so we could grab it on the way out.

We rolled right to the gate. Just to save you the heartache we went through when the airline broke our peg, do yourself a huge favor and get a cheep stroller to take on vacation.

Yup, brought them right to the gate.
We got a bag at BRU for $30 to carry the car seat in. When we got to the gate, turned out the flight was not full and we were able to use the car seat on the flight. (both ways!!!) Made flying with a 9 month old much easier!
