Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I've wanted a pair for forever, and I think I'm going to finally get a pair sometime in the next year.
What pair do you have? I was looking at the simple or the decollette-they're both a 4" heel, and I don't ink I could wear higher on a regular basis.
How do they hold up? I have a few other designer shoes (none quite as expensive as these), and I feel as if they have all held up really well (some are 8-10 years old).
Finally, what do you do to care for them? Anything special?

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have simples and also pigalle (among others ) and pigalles are by far my favorite.
The bottom gets destroyed after I'd say about 7 wears. Though I'm sure it varies person to person. Then you need to take them to a good shoe repair place that has the matching red rubber soles to repair them. There's a good guy in westbury who did mine. I don't live on Li anymore but I believe it was called post ave bootery.
They run SMALL. I normally wear a 6.5 and in CLs I really need a 37.5.
Go for it! I love mine. Only downside is that I don't get to wear them all that often. I don't wear them to work so it's really just if I have a nice dinner or something to go to.
I'm trying to upload pics pre and post sole repair but it says my pics are too large

i am looking to invest in a good pair of shoes that will last a long time and are "classics" since i very rarely get dressed up. looking into the pigalles too. i like their shape. wondering if louboutins are ever on sale or discounted.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have read that they are very uncomfortable. Is this true? I would imagine they run narrow too? True?

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have the decollette in black patent and camel - I wear a 4-5" heel on a regular basis, and while they are BEAUTIFUL shoes and make your feet and legs look fab, I will say they are a bit more difficult to maneuver in than my other stillettos. Not impossible, just not as easy to run down the hall in ......KWIM? I think for an investment, that style is a good bet - it's classic. Not at all trendy and you will wear them for years (I've had my camel ones for at least 4 years, and the black ones about 2 I think ......)
Take them to 'The Leather Spa' - there is a kiosk in Grand Central ......and have the rubber sole added to the shoe. It's the same CL color red, and 100% worth the small extra expense to keep the red sole from getting worn (and you from slipping)
I am a shoe wh*re - and my designer shoes hold up very well, BUT, I also don't wear them on a very regular basis (they're not kicked under my desk like my every day Nine Wests - which, by the way, hold up AMAZINGLY!)
I find them to be comfortable. I think Manolo is the MOST comfortable for a designer $$$$$ shoe - so if you don't normaly wear that high of a heel, and you don't have your heart set on the red sole, youi might want to try out Manolo
Also you can't really go by a designer shoe for a "good" shoe - Most of them are just the name brand and nothing more - I think CLs are defnintely a statement shoes that make you feel great when you put them on - for someone who loves shoes, it's worth the $$$ for the splurge !

Classic styles are colors are never on sale. If you know someone who works at a high end Dept Store you can usually use their discount =)
I don't know if Bloomie's FF would apply - you could try !!

I agree with Manolo.
I have a pair that were given to me by my aunt who worked the runway shows for years for Halston by Randolph Duke.
They are so comfortable. My feet do not ache when I take them off especially after a long day of wearing them.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
They are comfortable, not to the point you can go run in them but I have worn them out all night, dancing and my feet were not screaming at me like my other shoes.
They hold up well, the red of course wears off but not on the actual part you can see if you were to walk in them.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I don't think Louboutins are uncomfortable at all.
I do get the red rubber sole put on as a PP mentioned.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
They do go on sale twice a year, around memorial day and then again around thanksgiving time.
Usually its not classics but you would be surprised, Barneys, Bergdorfs and saks in NYC is where you can score some deals. The online websites do not have all the shoes on sale, you really have to go into the store during their presale, all shoes that are going on sale will have a red dot on the sticker underneath the shoe.
I have a bunch, i have a pigalle 100 in nude kid leather that is my fave, i have the pigalle 120 multi spike and I can't walk in them they are very high. I have the new style pigalle Foilles 120 in black suede, i have a pair of flats, i also have the pigalle plato 120 in black kid leather they are by far the most comfortable, then i have a couple other pairs i can't think of the names.

Talk to me about Christian louboutins
Thanks ladies! I specifically want a rounded toe black shoe, bc I have a pair of pointy black jimmy choos. While I don't have any manolos, I do have a few pairs of Burberry and jimmy choos, and both have held up incredibly well. Obviously I don't wear them all the time, but I do take good care of them.
It's really the red sole that is tempting me

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have a few pairs and I'm most comfortable in the 85mm and the 100mm. I really can't go any higher than that. I have a 120mm that I don't wear, even though they look awesome.
I went to the boutique for two pairs (other two were gift from DH, purchased at the boutique) and the salesperson encouraged I buy my regular size. They do stretch a bit as they break in. Not a ton of stretching but they feel like a glove and I'm comfortable in them for long periods.
I seriously want the Simple and New Simple styles in every color. That won't happen but I do need a nude heel and that's on my wish list for my bday/mothers day gift next year.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have the Simple 100mm in Nude and they are so comfortable. I really didn't expect them to be. I needed to go up a size and they do mold to your feet.
If you can get to a store, I would go and try them on.

Re: Talk to me about Christian louboutins
I have all different ones including pigalle and décolleté, but I find those uncomfortable, I think because there is no platform so if you're standing a long time they'll start to bother me. My most comfortable pair is the NoPrive which is a platform peep toe. I also have to go up a half size in them.

Simple 100's in black are round toe and comfortable. I wear the same size in jimmy choo and louboutin. I take all of mine to post Ave bootery on post ave in Westbury. They're magical. I usually get them soled before I even wear them.

I'm a big fan of Jimmy Choo. I have a pointy toe and almond toe, and both are so comfortable!
