talk to me about crossfit
i understand the basic concept but is there a difference between crossfit locations? I understand they're all independently owned but the leaders are all trained the same, right? I called three locations near me and they all charge difference prices - from $129-$180/month which I think is quite a difference.
crossfiters, what has your experience been like? are there really people of all levels there?

Re: talk to me about crossfit
I just started Crossfit 2 weeks ago - so far I LOVE IT!
Its really re-energized my fitness - I was getting so burnt out just running and spinning - I could never stick with a weight training program.
I chose my Crossfit "box" (that's what they call the gyms) after going to trial classes at a few different locations. I would contact the ones you are interested in - there are standard certifications, but I would go check out the vibe at each location. I just felt a connection with the coaches and people at one box so that's where I signed up.
There are literally all kinds of people there - I thought it would be super fit males - but there are all levels that participate. Every workout is scalable to any fitness level. Make sure you choose a box that has foundations/on ramp type program so you really learn the skills!
I haven't been energized about working out like this in ages!

I go to Pace Performance and I love it!!! I also agree with everything above and that is why i quoted it. I am doing things that I never thought I could do such as handstand pushups and over 100 chin ups in a single workout. I also did 30 pullups and a variety of other crazy things. LOVE IT
