Talk to me about diapers

iI just read in this twin book I have that they will go through 950-1100 diapers the first 60 days.

Somehow I dont remember my son going through SO many as a Newborn but the sleep deprivation may have cause my memory lapse.


Honestly how many diapers do each or both go through in one day. And any tips on stocking up on them? I'm assuming they will stay in a Newborn size longer then say a singleton b/c of coming earlier?

I've been using size 1/2 diapers since the beginning. They use about 8 diapers a day each.

In the beginning we were using preemie diapers (although they were full term they were small at 4.15lb and 5.1lb). After a couple of weeks they were in NB. They were in NB for a few months. once they got to be about 7-8lbs I switched to cloth diapers. I would say at first they each used 6-8 diapers a day.

There is a time saving tip:

When I get anew package, I put vaseline (cheaper than a and d ointment I get a tub of vaseline at Walmart) right in every diaper with my fingers in the diaper. I load them all into the diaper stacker.

This way when I go to change a baby, PRESTO ready made diaper. YOu aren't fumbling around for the ointment.

My husband calls the process "making the diapers". I do it about once a week.

Int he beginning they were changed every 3 hours righe before being fed unless they had poop. I went through 20 diapers a day!

Also since I live in a 2 story house, I have 3 diaper changing stations so that I don't have to keep moving the babies to the "changng area".

That saves a lot of time.

20 a day and I had one in NB and one in 1/2 for a few weeks, then both were in 1/2 for a while after that. Even though the 1/2 were's big on my little guy, the NB's did not hold enough becuase of his age did not correspond to his weight.

About 20 per day. Iused NB for the first couple months.

Between 16-18 a day. I lived at BJ's!!

I am not sure how many I used but I know it was a lot. I remember telling people when they would ask what I needed was diapers. U can never have enough.

i'd say i was going through about 20 a day. Things got hairy about 2 or 3 months in when DS started wearing a different size diaper then DD, at 9 months they still do and it is such a pain the butt!
