Talk to me about low volume on SA...

Everything came back normal on DH's SA except for volume.

How much do you think this affects us TTC?

For example, last month we BD'd (relative to O): -3, -2, -1, O, +1. By the 4th and 5th days.. there was (TMI alert) maybe only a penny-sized amount in there...

His count is good .. great even, but I worry that by the time we get to the "important" days... or even just after the first day that the volume is so low and maybe that is something that's hurting us.

Anyone have experience with this?

We're going for our 1st IF consult later this month but probably after I ovulate so we want to still TTC this month. When do you think we should BD?

First off, glad that everything came back okay!

But given the volume issue, perhaps you should try every other day around O? Did your doctor make any recommendations?

Did you get details on the volume? Acupuncure helped DH ALOT. Also diet has something to do with it as well..DH was taking some muscle building crap from GNC and as it turns out, IT KILLS SPERM! Found that out from acupuncutre. Needless to say that's out the door.

The count, motility and morphology are the most important numbers. Volume is not terribly important and can easily change depending on the day. I would keep doing what you have been doing unless there is a drastic change in the counts.

I agree with the pp regarding volume not being critically important but I would try every other day next month and a little preseed can't hurt. Best of luck at your RE appointment.
