Talk to me about teething and diaper rashes..
Has anyone else experienced this? My son had this blistery horrible rash this am that I've never seen before. He also just started fussing while chomping on his hands and is a major drool factory. My poor munchkin..

absolutely! Our first rash after over a year of not having one I believe was caused by this..try lotrimin, balmex and aquaphor in that order and hope your lo feels better..also, stop using wipes for a while and use either warm water and cotton balls or viva paper towels and make sure the area is dry before you lather him up...

Re: Talk to me about teething and diaper rashes..
Diaper rashes are the worst. DD had one a few weeks ago that left her skin raw. I cried with her at every diaper change. My ped gave me a great recipe of stuff to use:
Vaseline or aquaphor A white zinc oxide cream (I used Desitin Max because it has the highest level of zinc oxide I found) Bacitracin And a tiny bit (like a teaspoon) of olive oil
Mix a batch of it together and put it in a tupperware. Wipes irritate the skin, so use wet paper towels (soft ones). He suggested not wiping DD when she peed - only when she pooped. Seemed gross to me, but it is less irritation on them. Also, air helps a ton. I let DD air out for 10 minute aat every diaper change. And if your DS isn't mobile yet, try letting him lay nakey on a towel. It's difficult to do when they become mobile.

Re: Talk to me about teething and diaper rashes..
It's the worst! DD had it as a baby and recently again while her 2 year molars are coming in. It is awful and so painful for her! She screamed at every diaper change, I felt horrible.
Like the other posters said, don't use wipes until it clears up, paper towels with water only. My ped gave us a prescription cream (Nystatin) and she had us alternate that with a mixture of Maalox and Desitin. Be sure to really pile it on before naps and overnight.
It should clear up in a few days. Good luck!

DS gets them all them when he is teething...they look horrible!
I just make sure to slather on the diaper cream with every diaper change.

We had them with DD a few weeks ago and I felt so bad for her.
Desitin Max and Aquaphor are are go to treatments. We also let her air out and do not use wipes since they irritate.

Re: Talk to me about teething and diaper rashes..
I can't help with the diaper rash cause I have been lucky so far.
My DS started drooling and chomping on his fist and anything else he can get in there at about 3 months. Dr said it is the start of teething but that does not mean he will have teeth anytime soon....could be soon could be months away.
Get lots of bibs. Gavin has a bid on all day and up until the point I put him to bed at night. If he did not have a bib on I would be changing clothes all day.
Also watch the chin...DS has a rash on his chin from all the drool.

Re: Talk to me about teething and diaper rashes..
Thank you ladies! I know that this can be months and months of torture for DS before he cuts a tooth.
I just started using cloth diapers. And no, I truly don't believe that this caused the rash. So when he has cloth on, I use coconut oil. Yesterday I had him in disposables with aquafor and butt paste.

Could it be from the coconut oil?
How old is he? He's still little right? B/c around 3-4 months they go through an oral phase and drool and put their hands in their mouths and it's not teething.
Just thought I would that out there in case it's not teething.
