Re: Taste in Sayville?
I have been several times and I have enjoyed almost everything I have had.
The marinated strip was outstanding the first time we went - but less so when we returned on Saturday. The braised short ribs were fantastic when I had them and the filet mignon is slim cut but well portioned and very tasty - if I ordered them again I would ask them to NOT put brown gravy on them - but reserve it only for the mashed potatoes. The pizzas are crisp with a good flavor and the baked brie is a nice appetizer that is served with an assortment of fruit and crackers. My husband loved the baked clams - but we were not at all fond of the chili rubbed chicken wings and chipotle bleu cheese (they were cooked well but the seasoning just didn't work for us). The hearts of romaine salad was way too pungent and salty. The rigatoni is very light and merely okay - but the Lobster fettucine is AMAZING. I also recommend the crab cakes. My friends have sworn by the cheese fondue - but that is a meal in itself and meant to be shared. The fried twinkie dessert is just what you would expect - greasy and tasty. I had the raspberry sauce on it. The flourless torte was dense and moist and richly flavored. I loved the chocolate fondue but it is pricey and waaaay too much food to end an evening with. My favorite thing is off the lunch menu - macaroni and cheese with pancetta crisps. Bowtie pasta with a Gruyere sauce. SO GOOD.
Most of the people I know that have gone there have loved it - although I have heard a few negative comments.. like any restaurant I think a lot depends on the day and time you go!

I have been to lunch once and to dinner 3 times. Each time I eat off of everyone else's plate AND my own. Yum!
