Tax question? Avon a small business?
SO I started selling avon on the side to family and friends last year. It is NOT a money maker, but fun, and I get discounts on the few items I need. I now need to do my taxes. I have always done them on turbo tax, but now not sure what to do.? Can I still use turbo tax?
Do I have to do the home & business one?
If anyone can help, please let me know.
TIA

Re: Tax question? Avon a small business?
i work real estate on the side of my full time job and I have to claim the money- but I think there is a certain threashold
also, if you lost money (i.e. you bought more products than you sold- i think those are considered costs of doing business- you can take that as a loss and not be taxed on your other income.
i would talk to an accountant if you can

Re: Tax question? Avon a small business?
thanks for responding. I actually talked to one of the turbo tax accountants, and they explained what I need to fill out, so hopefully I can get through it. It's so little Money, it kills me to pay an accountant, but if I get stuck, I will surely find one.
Thanks!
