Tax Refund Question and Waiting Time
My DH and I filed a week ago this past Saturday, so 2/11. My sister also filed same day(actually our accountant) did both claims that night and I even got an emai to confirm the e-file. My sister got her refund a week later, 2/18 and we still didn't. Can it be because she files single and us married and joint or is there probably know rhyme or reason to it? When I checked the link to check status under my DH SS# it says should be there by 2/21(that came and went) and my SS# says by 2/28. How if we filed together can we be getting two different approximation dates? Odd, no? Also, did anyone get their refind SOONER than what the online status check showed? Thanks

i think they are having all sorts of delays from what i've been hearing from other folks.
i filed 2/4 and had our refund by 2/14. who knows the ryhme or reason..

I filed 2/6 and Im still waiting... Online it says I should receive it by 2/28... Even though my acct said to look for it on 2/15... Sucks that we're getting delayed but Im happy to know that someone else is in the same boat as I am

We filed 1/29 and got the refund 2/14.
For about a week, our ss#'s showed two different completion dates as well.

This is the IRS refund cycle chart. It doesn't count if you did a refund anticipation loan with your tax preparer though, it's just the official 'when will i get my refund' chart:

Thanks, said between Feb 9-15 (mine was done Feb 11) was ANTICIPATED by tomorrow, the 22nd but nope , just checked my bank and nothing is pending to go in tonight!
ETA: Before when I was checking the status I was coming up and so was my husband. His was showing around 2/21 and mine around 2/28(makes no sense since we filed together) and now his is still showing up and when I just checked my status they say no record on me, WTF? Now I am confused!

I only do them with the primary number on the account (whichever is first). I don't think it works on the secondary. In my experience the IRS usually deposits on Fridays, I just noticed that chart is saying wednesdays. For my clients that filed on 2/11 I would tell them to expect their refund on Friday 2/24, but if not, then Friday 3/2 because the IRS doesn't guarantee direct deposit dates. If you didn't do direct deposit then the date would be different.

My date has now been changed from 2/28 to 3/6 due to "processing delays"... Every yr we always get it back so quickly... WTH is going on this yr

We filed on 2/11 it estimated it to be here by the 28th, so we shall find out next week.

My sister is a tax preparer and saids there are delays. Keep checking via "wheres my refund" and don't call in. You will waste your time.
