Taxes due April 18th this year!!!
Because of some Washington DC holiday the whole country gets a reprive.

It falls on that day, I think, as opposed to it BEING on the 15th every year.
Its the Slave Emancipation holiday.

I had to look this up...
Emancipation Day is April 16th but is being observed on April 15th. Apparently we will get a couple of extra days next year too. I never heard of it being observed nor being used as a reason to change the tax filing day. According to Wiki, it effected the 2006 filing date but I thought that was because the 15th is a Saturday and the official tax filing date is always a business day. I think it's kind of weird they chose a date to observe the holiday at a time it would effect tax filing like this.
