Taxes in Mastic/Shirley Area?
Can anyone give me an example of taxes in the mastic/shirley area for a home that let's say is 1600 to 2000 square feet on .25-.50 acre of land?
I know the details of the area, just curious of taxes...
thanks!!!

around $7K true taxes, based on speaking with people who own homes in that area.

A lot of it matters on when the house was built. The earlier it was built, the cheaper your taxes. 7-8000 is considered very high for the area, but it is more common for the new homes.

We have a home in Shirley, 1600 sq. ft.
It is fairly new, built in 2001. We are paying 7000$. I think its still a little high.. so we're trying to get them lower right now.

Re: Taxes in Mastic/Shirley Area?
It will completely depend on how old the house is. I have lived there over 5 years, I bought an older house which needed to be renovated. We have slowely done it over the years. But when we bought there was a huge building boom in the area, so our taxes have stayed relatively low (about $3800 w/star) b/c the newer houses around me are much more.

if you are asking if $7K is high/low for LI for a comparable house in a different area, then the answer is that generally the taxes are lower in that area.
