Taxes on new home construction
Are taxes on new construction generally higher than a comparatively priced older home?
Ex - $400K house with $9K in taxes built in 1945 vs $400K house built in 2008? There are no taxes listed for new construction on most homes on MLSLI and I am just trying to get an idea.
Thanks!!!!

Re: Taxes on new home construction
yes the taxes will be higher on new construction and it varies from town to town. you wont know the exact taxes until the builder files the CO's.

true!
And......if the owners of the 1940 house put in a new kitchen and the town knew about it then they can be taxed on it. Not like people get a new kitchen and report it to the town. I'm just making a point. Key word is new! Anything new = more tax.
It stinks.
