Teacher Assistant????
Just wondering if anyone knows how to go about getting your certificate to become a teachers assistant NOT aide. Any info would be appreciated, you can fm if you would like.

yes, there is a state test to be a TA. i also think you have to take the LAST test, which teachers take as well.
if you're already a certified teacher though, but want to be a TA, you don't need to do anything additional.

I didntthink there was a test. I know in my district you have a teching certificate.

you are probably in a LI district or another district where people want a "foot in the door." legally, TAs are not required to hold teaching certificates but a lot of districts get more bang for their buck as they hire teachers to be TAs at 2/3 less of a salary.

Depends on the district...some are higher with no medical benefits and some are lower with benefits
I would say 13,000-22,000
ETA...That was what I was getting when I looking for a teaching job and being offered TA jobs but I am a certified teacher not sure it it's lower for people who are not certified
