Teacher/bus driver/ lunch aide gifts???
What are you giving this year?? I can't spend too much. Looking for ideas!
Also, do you give to all the specials teachers and lunch aide etc.?

I'm contributing to the class gift for the teacher.
I would get her something else on my own but never know what to get and don't want to add to more junk for her. I hate that.
the bus driver gets cash. Probably $20-$25. I don't remember what we gave last year.
I don't give to the lunch aides. I have no idea who they are, how many there are, if they are the same every day. It would be too hard to figure out
I don't give to special teachers either.

Bus driver - amazon gift card
Lunch aides - no
Specials - my son wants to give a dd gift card to his trumpet teacher - other than that no to the special teachers

Teachers - contributed to class gift and GC's for Nordstrom
bus driver - money
lunch aides - none
specials - none
When DS was in Speech and OT and I gave them GC's, but he tested out of it.

Teachers - I contribute to the class gift and then get a gc and have my DD write a thank you card
Bus driver - Gc
Lunch aide - I gave her a gc last year because my Dd always talked about her and she sent home a thank you card with my Dd, so I know she appreciated it. This year, my Dd rarely mentions her lunch aide (different one from last year), so I’m not sending anything.
Specials - nothing.

Teacher gets a gc to Target, classroom TAs and bus driver get $5 gift cards (usually Dunkin).
I don’t get for specials teachers and I am a specials teacher (It’s always nice, but I honestly don’t expect anything).

Bus driver usually gets dunkin or Starbucks
Nothing for lunch
Nothing for specials ( but I give them ds gift cards in December)

Teacher: i put in $10 for class gift, and got her a $25 Target GC from us (also did the same at holiday time)
Bus Driver: he has a different one in AM and PM, so they each get a $10 starbucks gift card
I don't do anything for lunch aids or specials teachers...

Teachers - I do visa gift cards and give to the class donation if available
Bus driver - no ((they had subs so often))
Lunch aides - no
Specials - this changes every year. I once gave one to the music teacher bc she let my DS bring the concert songs home since he had trouble with his speech. I always give to his speech pathogist. I gave a gift card to the gym teacher this year bc he’s amazing and seriously does so much.
So personally I only give gifts to those who go above and beyond, not just those who do their job.

$20 cash to each bus drivers
Contribute to class gift and get teacher and TA target gift cards.
for specials, i give $10 gift cards for the ones that i constantly hear about.

Last week I went to Kohls and their big candles (usually $19.99) were 60% off so they were about $7.50...I grabbed a bunch of these as end of the year gifts for people like these.

I have 3 kids and 6 teachers to buy for. I bought them all 25.00 Target gift cards and I contributed 10 towards my sons kindergartens class gift.
I have to buy for OT and PT, I think Im doing picture frames and maybe a gift card or maybe just a frame.
I also have 2 bus drivers and 2 aids on the bus that I never see. I may just do Dunkin Donut gift cards.
My son is in an inclusion class this year so he has two teachers and two aids that are with him. I have to buy for those two aids.
There are too many to buy for.

Between my 2 girls I had to get 5 teacher/aides gifts.
OT
Bus drivers
5 dance teachers
I contributed to the clas gifts for both
Than I got $25 target gift cards for each teacher and aid and the ot.
Dance teachers I got $15 bath and body works gc.
Bus drive $20 Dublin donuts gc

I don't get this either. And like everyone does it it seems so I feel weied/cheap that I don't.
Why bother with class gifts if everyone is going to go out and buy individually too?

I’d honestly rather just buy my own gifts instead of contributing to the class gift, but I feel like I have to contribute. That’s why I do both. To me, my class gift contribution is not enough to say thank you on behalf of my DD.

I agree. My girls' classes typically collect $10 per teacher but I usually give at least $25 per teacher, so I supplement with my own gift.

This way I don't have to stress about buying something at the craziest/busiest time of year for me and worry about giving the teacher something else she doesn't want or need .
There are 24 kids in DD's class. That's a lot of gifts to be getting...plus a class gift.

Honestly I feel like a good teacher deserves more than just $10 a child. They spend all year with my child, caring for them, teaching them, and they play a big role in my child’s life. This year I gave $25 extra per teacher on top of the class gift but in years prior I did $50 because those teachers were phenomenal and made extra efforts to make the year a great experience.

I did this for dd's preschool teachers. I think I'll probably do it again. They didn't collect anything for a class gift this year.

I agree -- my child had a particularly hard year so I contributed to the class gift and then gave a $50 GC to the teacher and a $25 GC to the Para. I also gave them a little something to wrap up. When my child is older im sure i wont do as much.
