Re: Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
I contribute to the class gifts. It's usually $15 and it goes to both the teacher and the teacher aide.

Re: Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
I contribute to the class gift - usually $10-$15, and then give a personal gift as well. It used to be $50/teacher but this year my child has 3 teachers so the 2 main teachers are getting $25 and the Assistant is getting $15. I'm not made of money unfortunately.

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
My sons class just asked for 5.00 per teacher and he has two teachers in his class. I feel like getting them something more and giving it to them at the conference on Tuesday. I was thinking of giving them a card with a 20.00 visa gift card to help with the holidays and a card thanking them. I know that its not the end of the year but I don't want any of the class moms to get mad if they see me the last day of school giving an extra gift.

$50 is what everyone gives at the holidays?? What do you give at the end of year if you don't mind me asking. I am feeling super cheap right about now
I give the same at the end of the year, plus a heartfelt thank you if it’s someone I particularly liked. My DS’s teachers last year I cried when I hugged them goodbye (although I still see them everyday )

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
this year, the class mom collected $5 from each kid for the class gift. Then i'm giving a $30 gift of our own, too (a $10 gift, and then a $20 target GC)

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
I think daycare and school are two totally different things -- so when you say "teacher" i think it is better to clarify. I give my nanny a bonus of one weeks pay for xmas, the same for the cleaning lady. For my sons teacher I give $25-50 GC depending. If my child was in daycare all day id probably give more than the $25-50 I would give his school teacher.

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
I’m class Mom this year for prek. 1 main teacher, 2 assistants, 4 other 1 day teachers (gym, art, computer, music). I’ve gotten anywhere between $20-$150 and I’m still collecting. I didn’t ask for a specific amount just noted that the main and assistants will get the bigger portions with the 4 other teachers getting a token gift.

Re: Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
For ds1, who is 4 and in pre k, I'm planning to give $50 to his main teacher and $30 each to the two assistants. My ds2, who is 2, I'm planning to give $50 each to his 2 teachers (there are no other assistants).

Re: Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
DS is in a learning program part time. I spend about $40 on each teacher and assistant. I do a gift card for $30 and tape it to a small gift like candy or a small basket that's usually around $10. The assistant is the same one everyday for the couple of hours DS is there, so I'd feel bad giving less just because her title is technically "assistant".
ETA: I never know what to do for the 2 directors and the admin people. Gift cards would be too expensive because there is a lot of them. Normally, I do a small box of candy for each one but I really wanted something different this year.

Re: Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
DD is in prek and DS is in the 2s. They go to the same private pay school until they start our district kindergarten.
A mom in each class is collecting $$ for gifts. The suggestion was $25/day for each day your child attends. DD goes all 5 so $125 and DS goes 3 so $75. DD has one main teacher and three assistants and DS has one main teacher and two assistants. I still need to give for the bus driver and patrons. It's a lot and adds up quickly and as crazy as it is, the class gift is actually saving me $$ bc I would've gifted more $$ on my own.

If this is elementary school, for the gym/music/etc. teachers are you giving $5 gift cards to somewhere? My daughter wrote a list of 16 people at school she wants to give gifts to including lunch ladies, gym teachers, music teachers, librarian, etc. and I'm trying to think of how to do this without breaking the bank, I thought about $5 Dunkin' Donuts cards but don't want to seem cheap.. at the same time, I can't buy all of them diamond earrings!

I'm revisiting the cluster/special teacher thing right now because it's almost 8 people. I think $5 is thoughtful! I'm a teacher and mostly I see a handful of kids bring something for those teachers. Maybe out of my 32 students, 5 bring something for the cluster teachers.
I've seen dunkin or starbucks which is what I did last year. I've also seen kids bring little boxes of chocolate. I've seen kids bring in very generous gifts.
I'm torn between $5 to dunkin or those small bags of godiva/lindt/etc.
Honestly, I think the thought is what they appreciate.
