Teachers (daycare, school, etc.)
I think I read in one of the threads that you supply your own stickers, books, etc. Is that true? I never knew that. I always assumed you were reimbursed.
Knowing that I'll make more of an effort to help provide supplies. I used to always bring in stickers and toys that I rec'd doubles of or just stuff my DC don't use anymore that was barely touched - but I got lazy....

Re: Teachers (daycare, school, etc.)
Elementary teachers get hit the worst.
Even those with a stipend for supplies... a couple of hundred barely makes a dent for everything that is needed in an elementary room. The bulletin boards alone are $$$$.
Even at the high school level... I can't begin to tell you what I spent in the past. I finally had to cut back a few years ago.
ETA: Boxes of tissues, baby wipes, everything is appreciated.
I know some moms buy supplies during the summer when they have the great sales, practically free, at Staples and donate a lot of it to their child's classroom.

Most teachers do have an annual budget but buying everything within the confines of the budget is near impossible. I know I'd rather spend money on novels than stickers. So, yes, there are many extras to be purchased out of pocket.
