Teachers who teach clubs, extra-curricular activities and sports-??

Does a teacher get paid extra for doing school related things AFTER school like clubs, sports, etc.???

My friend did. She was a cheerleading coach until she had her first child.

my Dad coached football on and off for years

it is even figured into there pension

99% of the time it's paid. The only thing I can think of was when my friend did Future Corps with the students, that was voluntary.

Yes, I do many extra curricular activities and get compensated for them. There are some volunteer opportunities however, such as PTSA teacher rep, or Shared Decision Making teacher rep, which go unpaid.

I get paid for being a Class Advisor and a DECA advisor.

I am a class advisor and I get paid. However, if you are starting up a new club, usually they do not pay you until it is established. But its not like being an advisor pays the bills tremendously!

i think it depends. My brother is assist coach for baseball and doesnt get paid. when i did after school homework help, in school (after school type club) i got about 40 an hour. when i used to do state testing review classes after school i got paid too

I do an enrichment program and I get paid per session...1 per wk for 9 weeks. Also, if I chaperone something I get paid.

Yup, from what I hear coaching pays well.

I've done the literary magazine (big headache!) and the Buikder's Club (like Key club for younger students).

yes...

most districts hve within their contract the payscale for after-school clubs and coaching.

Title I (NCLB) money pays for things like after-school tutoring and homework help in my district,

yes, I made $2200 as the advisor for the newspaper. We usually met one day a week, except when an issue was coming out (bimonthly)
