Teaching Certification Question?
Question for DH:
Are you able to start teaching anywhere without having a masters yet? A place where you could teach and get your masters part time at night or something?

Re: Teaching Certification Question?
You can teach w/o an MA but need a BA in education. I think you have 3 years to get your MA.

Re: Teaching Certification Question?
yes...
IF you have a teaching certificate from your bachelor's degree (i.e. an undergraduate major in education)
OR
teachin a private school (Dioceses of Rockville Centre, Brooklyn or New York) but jobs are scarce
OR
via a teacher prep. program like the NYC Dept. of Ed.'s Teaching Fellows or Teach for America. Google both for more info. My husband is finishing up Fellows and LOVES it.
