Team bonding - work related...
I'm trying to put together a team bonding activity for my team at work. I don't really want to do a dinner, as we ALWAYS go to dinner. I'd like a setting where people can chat more...
I was thinking about bowling... but is that lame? I thought it might be fun..
Any other ideas? What would you like to do to bond with co-workers (if you HAD to)?
TIA!

Bowling was going to be my suggestion. I think that's a great way to bond.

We've done karoke, bowling, fishing trip (they chartered a boat out of Captree)
The fishing trip was the best. You didn't have to fish, you could hang out and get some sun. But it's better for a big group, because it's $$.
How many people are you looking at?

Bowling is fun and it's amusing to see how incredably competetive your co-workers can get. We did bowling and had a guy who never bowled before and he had a blast. He didn't care what his score was or how he looked he just had a great time.
My company just did a few weeks ago they got us all tickets to see a AAA baseball game after work. You were able to bring 1 guest with you and they also gave everyone a $10 voucher for snacks.
Last week was lunch. They shut everything down and had catered with BBQ foods.
Another thing my company has done is mini-golf.

Oh, i like all these suggestiong!!
I LOVE Karaoke!! And it's a sales staff, so no one shoudl be EMBARRASSED!!
I think bowling is good cause you can chatter about while someone is bowling. Mini golf is awesome too, but for some reason i think it takes FOREVER to finish a game..lol maybe I'm just THAT bad.
Thanks!

A nice pool hall.
Yankees/Mets/ minor league game.
Just a "game night" somewhere.
We hosted an event recently and brought in Wii's for people to play with - it was a big hit.

Re: Team bonding - work related...
Where I used to work on Long Island, the Company I worked for hosted a large cooking class for a recruiting event. We divided into teams, and each team made a part of the meal (App, Dessert, Main Course, Sides, etc).
It was fun and forced me to work closely with co-workers I had never been on a team with before.
I think it was either in Rockville Center or Garden City. Good luck!

Re: Team bonding - work related...
What about a golf outing? My dept does this every year. They get a bunch of foursomes and some play 18 holes and then some just play 9 holes. Afterwards they meet up for drinks and lunch or dinner.
