Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
IDK, I am just getting really frustrated with not knowing the gender. I don't want EVERYTHING to be yellow or green - esp when I look at other people's gender specific registeries and see pink or blue. Would it be dumb to register for some things pink, some blue and return the wrong color for the right one once the baby comes? I would just like SOME things in the gender color. Did any of you feel the same?

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
My registry is the most boring ever! I am happy about that though, because where possible, I have neutral colors that won't clash with the rest of the house. I also don't have a nursery, but if I did, it would be decorated in a French Country pattern and not a baby-like pattern. I figure that we'll get lots of gender specific gifts/clothing after the baby is born. I like that the big stuff is neutral. It is annoying though...and frustrating because most everything is geared towards "gender" colors.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
As a guest, I wouldn't purchase gender-specific items from a registry for a baby whose gender is unknown. I wouldn't want my gift to be returned and I wouldn't want the mom to go to the trouble of returning stuff.
So, no...I wouldn't do it.
I was team green as well. I didn't feel limited because I would have picked out all gender-neutral stuff for the big items anyhow. I guess the most of the green/yellow stuff were the bath things like towels, washcloths, etc. I didn't register for clothes really...aside from onesies, gowns and small things like that. Trust me when I say that you will be INUNDATED with pink or blue clothing when the time comes. I have so much pink in this house!!!!!!!

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
I am not team green, but I have seen many people do that for bedding. The one thing I will say is that I am so thankful I chose gender neutral for the big stuff when I had DS because I am reusing it for DD. If you are 100% sure you only want 1 DC then this may not apply, but for me I feel really happy that I did it this way.
I personally never registered for clothing b/c people just end up getting you what they like in that department. If you really want to do a clothing layette, Denny's will let you pick a blue set and a pink set and when you deliver someone can just pick up the correct set for you.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
Our registry is ALL gender neutral. Even now we won't change it, but that's becasue we're hiding the gender from people IRL. I looked at it as having stuff for the future as well. We want more kids so buying neutral helps. As the time gets closer buy some gender specific clothes and save the recipts. You can always return them. Also there maybe some garage sales still going on. I bought specific things and didn't blink an eye because at $0.50 who cared.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
Thanks, ladies. Yeah - I wasn't talking about the big items because more than likely, this will not be our only child so I am planning on going neutral with the big stuff. I was planning on prob doing two sets of bedding. I wasn't planning on registering for clothing because I know that's what people will buy after the baby is born. I was thinking more in terms of smaller items - towels, washcloths, boppy, I guess things of that nature...

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
I say go ahead and do it, guests may have fun picking which to by you depending on their guesses:) and like you said, you just return whichever aren't the right one.
I'm team green, but haven't started registering yet (I feel behind) - I don't mind the neutral stuff, but if theres something really cute, I may put it on anyway if I like the pattern

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
Spooks - dont' feel behind - we're due at same time Only reason I'm registering now is invites for NY shower are going out in next week - don't want people to get them and nothing be on registry! Really not looking forward to it! Wouldn't typically have a shower that early either (early Nov) but since we're flying up - don't want to really do it much after that. Local shower will be in Dec.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
The only problem is that if you dont get reciepts you cannot return if its from BRU ( not sure where you registered) ....even if its ON your registry and somehow its not taken off, then you dont get a receipt etc.
I would just be worried about it.
I always wonder how hard it must be for Team green mommies....

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
i'm team green and that's all i will be putting on the registry. to be honest i love the yellow, green and cream colored clothing - especially since i have so much blue from DS!!
i wouldn't buy pink or blue for someone i knew who was team green. i'd feel like i was jinxing it or something

I was told to add it as bought on my registry and then to have them look it up if it didn't have a receipt. You can mark stuff as bought on your own

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
i was annoyed too when even the towels were only pink or blue. the only thing i did was register for 1 girl comforter, 1 boy and will return the wrong one, everything else i figured i would use again for a second baby so i probably wold have gotten those gender-neutral anyway

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
I know exactly what you mean - if I see one more yellow ducky I might puke!
However, even if I did know the gender I'd probably be going more/mostly gender neutral so that I don't have to have 2 sets of everything if I had a baby of the opposite sex later on. So I probably wouldn't change much.
I've just been registering for as few clothes as possible - just the basics that work for boy or girl and a couple of things to get me through the first few days. I figure my family will buy gender specific stuff when the baby arrives and I will then fill in with whatever else I want for my or .
You could get some gender specific things and return stuff for the wrong gender, but if it was me I'd probably just wait. I keep saying that it's saving my wallet not knowing the gender - i have NO self control when it comes to baby clothes!!

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
I was so frustrated with trying to find a bedding set. I finally compromised on a set at BBB with frogs on it, but it's not one that I love.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
My sister didn't find out the gender of her baby, and while she got a lot of tan, green, yellow and white, she really didn't get that many clothes for her shower. People sent TONS of clothes once the baby was born so that they could buy her gender specific clothing. I'm sure that will happen for you, too.

Re: Team Green Ladies and Registry Vent!
You will still get plenty of presents that are gender specific once the baby comes. We got tons of girl clothes for DD after she was born. If that makes you feel any better. you can register for two bedding sets if you want. I've seen that done though we didnt' do it.
