Tear stains
How do I get rid of them?
Abby suddenly has this. The Lady at PEtco said that it looks like shes allergic to wheat and corn, so we got her corn and wheat free food, which she likes a lot.
BUT I think its from the cat food. She tends to "Get into it" and I can see her chin hair on the tips is red too ( form leaning in the food)...And I know that the dye in food comes out in their eyes.
So anyway....Hid the cat food etc...
But she still ha sthe red on her face and the tear stain removal is not working. They said it might not work.
We have been using it every day for like 10 days now.
Any other remedies?

Re: Tear stains
Denver used to get these a lot as a puppy but thankfully, seems to have grown out of it. What we did was use a wet paper towel and clean his eyes every day, twice a day. You have to keep up with it so it doesn't stain. It's much harder on lighter dogs. Good luck!

Re: Tear stains
There is a medication called Tylan. I got it from my vet. But I am pretty sure you can find it online.
I have a maltese and he is clean when I use the medicaine. You just mix in a tiny bit with his food.
