teen suicide in commack
we just heard this heartbreaking news that a high school student took his life.
my heart goes out to the child and to the family. I cant imagine the pain.
I havent seen it on news12, the news of his passing is on the district website (commack), no specific info though.

Wow - I guess it's classy of the media to give the family some privacy with this one.
It was a couple of days ago. A co-worker of mine lives on the same block as this teenager, and said there were cops and ambulances all over. A few hours later her husband called a friend who's a PO to ask why, and he told him the news. My coworker told me that the HS student hung himself.

I was also happy to see that it's not all over the news. my neighbor said the same thing about how it happened.

I hate hearing news like this. I have trouble picturing anything worse that a young person taking their own life. My prayers and hearts go out to his family and friends

How sad! I had a cousin who committed suicide when he was 18. Even in the worst circumstances, it never makes sense to anyone but the person who did it. What a dark place for anyone but esp a teenager who hasn't had the experience in life to see that whatever it is, it can get better. I cannot imagine the grief that family is going through.  I too am glad to know it hasn't been all over the papers. That poor kid!

That's my home town.. I also went to Commack High School..
This is so sad.. My older sister said they received a notification of this from the school district as well..
So sad...

Yup, that's what my coworker learned yesterday. Her daughter knew of the guy and said the teacher's were distraught all day, esp his language teacher who had been bugging him to hand in an assignment. Again, heresay, but the daughter stated that he was a President of a few clubs/organizations, etc., just a quiet student. No one understands why he did it.

How sad. I graudated from Commack. We teach an SAT course there for my job, I hope it wasn't one of our students. I always wonder when I see these things happens to high school kids. The Garden City girl who was killed in the murder/suicide the other day was a former student. And Natalie Cioppa (the Plainedge girl who ODed) was a former SAT student of one of my favorite teachers. He was devistated. Such a waste of life.

Very sad. I went to Bayport HS, we had a lot of teen suicides there with the train tracks. The train tracks are right behind the school. Now about two years ago they put a fence up to I guess try and de-ter, but I think if someone is going to do it they will find a way

so sad a very good friend of mine committed suicide right after she graduated h.s...i will never forget the amount of people at her wake...lines that literally wrapped around the building..and i remember thinking - she had all these people in her life, and still felt that she had no way out it's a very sad thing..and my thoughts & prayers go out to the family of this teen

i too am from commack and went to commack high school.... i was so sad when i heard about this. i know the student's name if anyone is wondering whether or not they knew him. FM me if you would like to know because i will NOT post it on here.

I work in the district and know him... Extremely nice and polite boy, so sad!! I never would have guessed it... The whole district is distraught over it
