Teenage Clubs...

Did anyone see the news after American Idol tonight about teen clubs? What are your feelings about them...do you think they're a good idea or is it just making our children grow up even faster?

I mean, I used to go to them when I was a teen and I remember what went on.. and I KNOW I wouldnt love the idea of my own children going to them but Im hopeing I would trust my kids enough to go and have a good time and BE GOOD..

Hopefully going to a social hall and playing bingo will be "cool" when my kids are teenagers.. lol

I have mixed feelings about the teen clubs.

On one hand- I didn't see anything going on there that i didn't see at JHS dances or parties when I was in school. A plus is that there is no alcohol available, which is not always the case at a home party. There are adult supervisors at the clubs too.

On the other hand, I feel funny that someone is profiting off of kids desire to grow up too fast. I also noticed that the girls dress more provocatively than when I was their age- which was about 10 years ago. I guess thats on the parents, not the club.

I remember going to these when I was about 14/15 years old. To me it was no biggie, I was really just going to dance and to be honest, the place I went was pretty nice, no shady practices, no shady characters and perhaps I was just oblivious but I didn't notice any drinking or drugs there at all.
