teeth problems during pregnancy?
Alittle background: I never had my wisdom teeth removed because I've never had any pain or discomfort with them. I've had xrays and the dentist said they wouldnt need to be removed until I felt the need.
Fastforward to now. I've had a sore throat 2 days in a row. Now tonight, I'm noticing my teeth hurt. Actually, its not exactly my teeth. Its sort of the gums where my wisdom teeth would be. Its sort of sore...mostly when I eat or swallow (even just saliva). Not sure if this is just the gum soreness that results from pregnancy, or if I may need to have the wisdom teeth extracted. Anyone experience this?

i think teeth and gum problems are common during pregnancy. i'd say it's probably just your gums - they have a tendency to swell. if it's still hurting monday give the dentist a call - it can't hurt.

I'd call a dentist to see how things are. It's very common during PG. I had 3 emergency root canals during PG.

DH is a dentist and said its possible the wisdoms are bothering you now and giving you a sore throat, now that your pregnant. You probably can't get them out now but maybe see your dentist for his opinion.
I just had a cleaning and I've had some gum tenderness and recession...he said its all preggo related and it should get better when the little bean pops out!

Re: teeth problems during pregnancy?
I never had a problem with my wisdom teeth at all. At about 10 weeks pregnant, my gums became sore. Within a few days, one of my top wisdom tooth erupted out of the side of my gum then it stopped.
At this point, about 2 months later, it is not bothering me at all anymore. OB said to wait for 2nd trimester if it HAD to be removed, but since it isn't causing any problems, the dentist said we'll see what happens after I give birth.
HTH!
